"New York City", by Julia & The Doogans

FR-058 / The Family Records Singles Club - Vol. 7 / Julia & The Doogans - New York City

"New York City" when taken on face value, is a song about someone leaving home for one of the most beautiful and celebrated places in the world. Beyond the surface though, it's a song about the feelings you have when someone dear to you is moving on in life - whether it be to New York or not. There's little to hold them back and keep them with you and while deep down you wish them the very best, there's a tiny piece of scepticism in your well wishing. In the end however, you know all their dreams will come true while you look on in admiration, hopeful that one day your dreams will come true too. Recorded in 2009, "New York City" was originally released in 2010 as part of Julia & the Doogans' self-released Come Home EP. Julia and the band are currently working on a follow up EP which they expect to release in Winter 2011. For more information visit juliaandthedoogans.com
